Scentre Group is the owner and operator of 41 Westfield shopping centres in Australia and New Zealand. Our purpose is to create extraordinary places, connecting and enriching communities.
A career with Scentre Group fosters the chance to be part of a company that is transforming the digital and physical retail space. Work with great people and add value to a tangible product you can see.
Technology is part of everything Scentre Group does; and in many cases, it’s the enabler. We create digital products that encourage customers to look up, not down, and connect with the places and community around them in our centres.
We're currently looking for a Digital Product Design Lead to join our Customer Experience Technology team and play a key role in delivering a range of digital initiatives connecting our retailers with our customers. This is a new position in the team and is being offered as a permanent role.
In this role, you’ll work alongside the leads from product and engineering to help shape the digital products used by our customers and our retail and brand partners to enrich and enhance experiences in the physical world. You’ll lead the design of creative and customer-focussed digital products and experiences delivered through web, apps, email, our screen marketing network, and other emerging platforms, as well as also enhancing existing products. Our team works across multiple products, with this role initially focussed on evolving our gift card offering to improve availability and convenience for our customers.
The role doesn't have direct people reports, though as a cross-functional team leader you'll utilise your leadership skills to provide development and guidance to the team. In addition to playing a leader role internally, you'll manage external contractors and agency partners who join us.
What will set you apart from the rest?
We’re looking for a range of impressive behavioural and technical qualities. You’ll have the ability to ‘think big’ and challenge conventional technology wisdom, coupled with excellent influencing and negotiation skills. You’ll be an inspiring leader, with excellent collaboration skills and a team orientated focus.
Technically, you’ll have experience iterating a digital product and evolving a design, coupled with experience in responsive, mobile-first design and native apps. You’ll have strong experience in digital design tools (particularly Sketch), but also in working directly with product owners and engineers around a whiteboard sketching ideas. Most importantly, you’ll genuinely care about helping customers have great experiences.
What sets us apart from the rest?
- Diverse career paths across our vertically integrated business
- Ability to innovate in a company that not only encourages it but will facilitate it
- Competitive benefits including 18 weeks parental leave, volunteer days to work with our charity partners, health and wellbeing discounts and ability to purchase extra annual leave
We encourage and support our employees to find balance in their work lives and what is important to them outside of work by embracing a flexible approach to how they work. If you're able to perform the requirements of the role and need some form of flexibility to do so, we're open to your application and ideas on how we could make it work.
If this sounds like you, apply today to make extraordinary happen! Should you have any questions, or want to discuss the role further, please reach out to Ali Long, Talent Acquisition Business Partner, on 02 9358 7066.
