Your opportunity

Joining our newly-formed Growth team, the SEO Specialist will support the Performance Marketing Lead in achieving our determined strategy to expand the Westfield shopping experience online and entrench Westfield Direct as a leading ecommerce marketplace. You’ll be researching, identifying and guiding ongoing growth opportunities in organic search results and traffic, working both in-house and with agency to drive efficiency and volume across customer acquisition, revenue and lifetime value. With ambitious targets and lots of content to work with, this role will be highly KPI-driven, focused on building, learning and optimising on-site content and off-site activity to deliver consistent growth.

You will have overall accountability to

  • Contributing to our overall growth strategy by creating, implementing, analysing and optimising our organic search roadmap to deliver monthly traffic, purchase volume and revenue
  • Research, identify and prioritise keyword and competitor gaps and opportunities
  • Work with the editorial and merchandising team to review content and establish topic and keyword priorities
  • Work with the product team to prioritise on-site technical requirements
  • Develop and implement off-site link building requirements, working with the PR team to optimise backlinks
  • Measure, analyse and report on best performing keywords, gains and losses, across traffic and revenue and use results and trends to inform future planning
  • Plan ahead for on-site and off-site requirements for key moments in the year to ensure we’re growing beyond brand and generic terms, with top ranking results for seasonal and promotional activity
  • Support the rollout of our experiment pipeline on-site, to improve conversion rates at every stage of the user journey
  • Work collaboratively with customer engagement, content and retailer teams, as well as product and data, to share requirements, coordinate priorities and work together on pieces of work that share a common goal
  • Prepare and share regular reporting of results in dashboards and individual report packs
  • Build open relationships with external partners, platforms and vendors, developing in-depth knowledge of their services to resolve issues easily and capitalise on new opportunities quickly
  • Keep ahead of the game by improving processes, asking why (and why not), and staying on top of current and future developments in digital marketing, tracking and technology


What will set you apart from the rest?

You will have a passion for tech and digital and curious, data-driven mindset, additionally;

  • Hands-on experience in search engine optimisation, including ecommerce sites or large publishers
  • Technical expertise in content audits, page optimisation and structured data
  • Strong competitor and keyword research experience using tools like Ahrefs or SEMrush
  • Proven experience using Google Analytics and Search Console to identify and resolve issues, and surface trends and opportunities
  • Strong understanding of customer acquisition, conversion and performance marketing
  • Data-driven, logical and analytical when it comes to results, but creative in approach
  • Motivated by methodical and systematic rigour
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent project ownership, time management and attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills to engage with internal and external partners
