Your Opportunity

With an already established cloud-first platform, the Scentre Group Technology Team is seeking a talented Lead Platforms Engineer (DevOps) to join our Cloud and Infrastructure team. This is a pivitol role in shaping our DevOps practises and toolsets whilst uplifting our CI/CD pipeline and continuing to evolve and maintain our modern cloud capabilities.

 

This role would suit an experienced Lead or Principle DevOps engineer with a background in Cloud Infrastructure (on GCP and Azure), Web Applications, Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, and project work.

 

Your key accountabilities will include:

  • Lead our DevOps practise including developing end to end best practise policies, governance, and toolsets.
  • Lead the development of automation and ‘self-healing’ across our cloud infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines
  • Lead continual service improvement across our CI/CD pipelines and ‘Developer Experience’
  • Develop our Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) capability
  • Design, architect, and deliver scalable, resilient, and secure solutions for our organisation in both customer and non-customer facing platforms.
  • Provide technical leadership across our cloud strategy and migration programs
  • After-hours support of the production environment & critical systems
  • Mentor and train the in-house team on GCP, Azure and the DevOps stack

 What will set you apart from the rest?

You will display strong influencing behaviours with the ability to negotiate with business and technical groups, bringing them on the journey with you. You will have a passion for building out DevOps as a practise, and a willingness to roll up your sleeves and build out solutions.

You can ‘think big’ and challenge conventional wisdom regarding technology.

For success in this role, you will have a genuine passion for how technology can enable great experiences for the Scentre Group customer, employee and partner.

Candidates should have a high level of knowledge and experience in these core areas:

  • Kubernetes – Managing clusters and running workloads with a focus on developer experience
  • Google Cloud Platform – Google Kubernetes Engine, VPC networking, Cloud SQL, etc
  • Monitoring stack (Prometheus, Grafana)
  • Configuration management systems & Infrastructure as Code such as Terraform and Ansible
  • Shell scripting or programming experience (Python, Golang, Node, etc.)
  • Docker builds and deployments
  • Networking fundamentals, exposure to Web Application Firewalls and VPC networking
  • Continuous Integration systems such as Buildkite
