Your opportunity
We have an opportunity for an Infrastructure and Platform Engineer to join our Technology team. This role is responsible for maintaining and evolving a secure, stable, and scalable platform across both on premises environments and public cloud platforms including Azure and Google Cloud. You will work across the full infrastructure lifecycle from deployment and automation through to monitoring, optimisation, and ongoing operations.
The focus is on reliability, performance, and practical automation within a hybrid environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and support infrastructure across on premises data centres and cloud platforms
- Develop and maintain infrastructure as code using Terraform and related tooling
- Ensure systems are patched, monitored, secure, and maintained, including on call support
- Monitor performance, capacity, cost, and reliability trends and take corrective action
- Automate provisioning, testing, and operational processes to reduce manual effort
- Support CI CD pipelines and platform tooling for development teams
- Manage system lifecycle including upgrades, maintenance, and decommissioning of legacy services

It requires someone comfortable balancing operational stability with ongoing improvement, working across infrastructure, automation, and support of development teams. You will contribute to maintaining a resilient environment while identifying opportunities to optimise performance, cost, and scalability.
Mandatory Skills and Experience
- Strong experience working across hybrid environments spanning on premises and cloud
- Proficiency in Azure and or Google Cloud
- Intermediate Terraform experience including large or complex codebases
- Strong Veeam implementation and management capability
- Proficiency in scripting and automation
- Experience supporting MSSQL environments from an infrastructure perspective
- Experience managing Windows, Linux, and hardware across full lifecycle
Desirable
- Knowledge of compliance and platform governance requirements
- Experience with Entra ID including RBAC, IAM, Service Principals, and Conditional Access
- Experience with monitoring tools including Prometheus, Grafana, Azure Monitor, Google Cloud Monitoring, AlertManager, and Pingdom
- Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to a range of audiences
