Your opportunity

At Scentre Group, our purpose is to create extraordinary places and experiences that connect, enrich and are essential to our communities.

We bring our purpose to life through the safe, welcoming and seamless operation of our destinations. Our Security Operations team strengthens security and emergency management practices across our portfolio through clear standards, specialist expertise, training and operational support. The team builds the capability and preparedness of our people and partners to maintain safe, resilient destinations.

About the role

The Security Operations Training Manager leads the development and implementation of a security and emergency management training framework across Scentre Group destinations.

The role takes a portfolio-wide approach to building capability, translating security priorities, operational needs and lessons from incidents into consistent and practical training.

Working with centre teams, security leaders and external providers, you’ll set training priorities and standards that strengthen preparedness, operational resilience and our response to evolving risks.

Key responsibilities

  • Own and implement the Security Operations Training Framework, establishing consistent standards, content, competencies and measures of effectiveness.

  • Translate security priorities and operational risks into an annual training plan that builds measurable security and emergency management capability.

  • Design and continuously improve competency-based training, assessments and practical exercises aligned with operational and regulatory requirements.

  • Lead enterprise programs, including Chief Warden Certification and AAO rehearsals, extending relevant training to contract partner supervisors.

  • Manage external training providers and oversee digital security training modules.

What sets you apart

We are looking for someone with strong operational experience and the ability to take a strategic, portfolio-wide approach to security and emergency management training. Relevant experience may include security or centre operations, duty management, major venues, hospitals, emergency services or operational training.

  • You take ownership of national training priorities and deliver consistent outcomes.

  • You have a strong track record of delivering results in fast-paced, ever-changing environments.

  • You’re confident, credible and passionate about building security capability, with strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate clearly and persuasively.

  • You build and maintain strong working relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.

  • You understand and respond to the needs of different audiences to make training relevant and effective.
