Senior Finance Manager – Sustainability

Your opportunity

This newly created Finance role within our Sustainability space will support the General Manager – Group Planning to contribute across areas of governance, strategy, risk management and metrics and targets.

The near-term focus of the role is to ensure that the Australian Sustainability Standards requirements are embedded in our approach. You will be required to work collaboratively across the organisation, along with the responsibility for the delivery of the Group’s broader ESG reporting suite (broader than climate) and to evolve our communication approach. As well as lead the engagement with ESG Rating Agencies that benchmark the Group’s performance.

Your key accountabilities will include:

  • Support the GM – Group Planning to deliver climate reporting in accordance with mandatory sustainability standards
  • Work with external consultants or advisors as required identify any gaps and to collaborate with the business to ensure any gaps are closed
  • Lead assurance or verification activities for all sustainability reporting
  • Continuous learning and sharing the latest developments in reporting standards and legislation.
  • Oversee enterprise ESG Reporting including the performance data pack
  • Oversee ESG Rating surveys and results, including insights to inform improvements in our ESG approach
  • Monitor external ESG Trends and implications to the Group
  • Drive analysis and benchmarking of ESG performance against peers
  • Lead others, share knowledge and support growth and development
  • Support General Manager – Group Planning on preparing Board updates

What will set you apart from the rest?

  • Must Have – CPA or Chartered Accountant
  • Preferred – Understanding and experience in applying sustainability frameworks, TCFD, GRI, TNFD
  • Preferred – working knowledge of accounting frameworks
  • Commercial acumen
  • Ability to influence and drive decision making
  • Analytical mindset and excel skills required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with wide range of stakeholders
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong organisational and project management skills
