Your opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a Commercial Retail Manager to join the ACT team.  You will be instrumental in creating deeper relationships with our Retail Partners to improve retailer advocacy. The Commercial Retail Manager is responsible for making commercial recommendations and negotiating outcomes to prevent, manage and collect rental arrears.  

The role is focused on developing solutions, driving commercial recommendations that ensure a consistent, effective, and commercial approach to the identification and management of commercial risk, and strategies to maximise collection of rent.

Your key accountabilities will include:

  • Build and nurture retail relationships that enable true customer-centric partnerships that drive better retail performance.
  • Analysis of debt reports, more complicated collection issues and higher risk retailers.
  • Negotiate mutually beneficial commercial agreements with our Retail Partners to facilitate rental payments, payment plans, rental assistance.
  • Recommend and influence commercial decisions with internal stakeholders.
  • Identify and implement strategies to deliver commercial outcomes and maintain strong retail partnerships.
  • Develop strategy and tactics to manage retailer arrears and promotional allowances to deliver the most commercially acceptable outcome in line with the Leasing and Retail Solutions strategy.

What will set you apart from the rest?

  • Commercially astute with strong oral and written communication skills, strategy development, negotiation and influencing
  • Tertiary qualified; preferably a property, business or retail discipline
  • Minimum five years’ experience in debt collection, retail property management or with a national retailer
  • Analytical, ability to mitigate risks and solutions focused.
