Your opportunity

Join us in a pivotal role as we integrate Scentre Group’s Life Safety policies, framework and system into our Customer Community and Destination (CCD) team. You will lead the development and embedding of our life safety management system, fostering a culture that prioritises the safety and well-being of our staff, business partners and the broader community. You will collaborate with stakeholders, provide expert guidance on health and safety, and drive continuous improvement through our annual Safety Improvement Plan. Reporting to the General Manager of CCD Risk and Compliance, as the National Safety Manager CCD, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop and execute the annual CCD Life Safety Improvement Plan, ensuring alignment and effective project management across stakeholders.
  • Lead the development, implementation, and continuous enhancement of the CCD life safety management system, in accordance with Scentre Group’s Corporate Life Safety Policy, Framework and System.
  • Provide expert advice, support, and educational resources to operations teams, aiding in the identification and management of work health and safety risks.
  • Oversee risk registers and reporting processes to support operational teams in accurately managing risks, fostering alignment and consistency across the organisation.
  • Manage major safety incidents by providing leadership in investigations, ensuring thorough management from initiation to implementation of corrective actions, and facilitating knowledge sharing through lessons learned and best practices.

What will set you apart from the rest?

  • A passion for safety, creating safe environments and embedding a safety-first, People Protecting People safety culture. ​
  • Proven experience in occupational health and safety management and knowledge of work health and safety regulations. ​
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to connect and influence people at all levels and capabilities. ​
  • Experience in developing and embedding (through learning and development programs) WHS policies and procedures. ​
  • Ability to complete risk assessments and recommended fit for purpose controls and risk management strategies. ​
  • Incident investigation and experience liaising with regulators.
